For those of you that don't know I'm currently working on this story as an open world RPG game in Unreal Engine. It's ridiculously huge so it's hard to see even a small fraction of content in just a few shots from the game editor program. Besides the main story line quests, the game-play is focused on ships, naval combat, trade, crafting, and building outposts. You can hunt animals on the plateau or fishing at sea and you'll need the meat to feed the people that work for you. You definitely need a horse to get around on land and you'll be gathering and trading for materials to build your own ships to get around on the ocean.

1. View of the plateau on the right and Durga Seung on the left.
2. Dhar-Sarola.
3. One of the mills.
4. The Sisters fortresses. I put them closer together in the game with bridges between them.
5. Pamoa.

I'll have some details on the characters sometime soon.

As soon as I can finish tail animations for the NPCs I'll have a very early alpha exploration version available on Patreon. Maybe a couple months? Final playable version will be at least a year out.

Amazing, I hope the actual game will look as good in motion as these screenshots, the backgrounds are beautiful, as are the foregrounds in the last ones ;) is the first frame a cutscene shot ?

Thanks. All of the landscape shots were taken in the editor. The 2 of K'hiki that I posted in comments are live in-game screen caps. I'll try to get a video up sometime soon so you can see how it all looks in-game in action.

This remind me one of my old projects. Also an RPG but with an other 3D engine, the Cube Engine.

I didn't chose this engine without reason. To show the Cube 2 Engine (an other 3D game engine) wasn't an FPS only engine, its creators chose to use it create an RPG, Eisenstern.

A side effect of that (failed) try was its predecessor, the Cube Engine, was deeperly seen as an FPS only engine.

I never actually started creating this RPG I planned to do

Scripting is my weakest skill and is the reason I chose Unreal. For me, their Blueprint system is way easier to understand than C++.

Wow, if the game is even half as good as the comic then I'd actually be interested in playing it, despite my waning interest in MMOs. I just don't have enough time to play them anymore, even though I enjoy the relative freedom they offer, gameplaywise.

Thanks!
It's not an MMO though. That's way too much work for a micro studio like mine. It's first person more like Skyrim but 10+ times the size.
