WE'RE BACK!
Added a new "thank you" image to the TWC vote button.

A few more revelations but we still don't know who's lying.
Poor little Mitri.

It would seem that the memories do not bar her from betraying those of different ethnic persuasion. Sir Liam beware.

Maybe Carri is telling the truth though. Either way you're right. Liam needs to be cautious with this one.

And things just get more convoluted.

It clearly traumatized her, whatever really happened. But now I'm really confused. Did Neela really bear false witness to get rid of Carrencia and have Eloma all to herself? Perhaps, somehow, Neela merely misinterpreted the situation - finding reason to blame Carrencia?

More likely, though, I think the PTS blocked memories of what really happened. Perhaps, after killing the island inhabitants (per her orders), she felt overwhelmed with guilt, blamed the commander and killed her?

In any case, seems like we'll need someone else to reveal the truth. They're heading to rescue Eloma and Neela, so maybe afterwards?

Yes it's hard to get to the truth on this one. Neela is dead so she's no help. Eloma and Liri weren't there so they can't add any light to the story.
But there is one other witness.

Are you referring to Mitri? Or Lennare? Because, technically, they were both witnesses. (Well, Lennare more a participant. But she was there.)

Though, we don't know definitively whether Lennare will survive her assassination attempt. (Probable, but not certain.) And the dead don't talk.

I will say that it was quite the curve ball to reveal Mitri as the lone survivor. That was unexpected!

And if Carrencia's remembered version is correct, then King Stenno was responsible for the death of Mitri's mother and everyone else on the island she held dear. If she ever finds out, she just might reconsider that Cheng idol's suggestion of killing off King Stenno (see "Mitri's Prize" in Extra Pages). Perhaps not, but she'd probably help undermine him in some way.

Yes, I'm talking about Mitri. I wouldn't consider Lennare a credible witness.
In Neela's version it was "a mistake" so in her story, the king did not order the death of innocent squatters. He thought they were pirates.
The truth will come out eventually.

Very nice work on several things on this page. First the lighting is good, the contrast between the various locations in how they are lit. Second, I like the transition into the dream. Very well done. And third, I love the advice -- never mention one woman to another woman. That would seem to be dating 101. LOL.
