Uum. Not to be an ass. But if many people come up with a different interpretation of the same thing...who's right. Are they all? This suggests they are all seeing the same thing-if I'm wrong let me know. If it's up to each individual to interpret the same thing, and they each come up with a different interpretation, does that mean I can call a cat a dog if I want?
From the witch's perspective, what they mean is that they are going to show her a cat in a tree but they're not going to tell her that the cat actually is Liam. To her, sometimes the visions are symbolic and sometimes literal. But can the dog-witch figure it out? She believes the shape-shifters have been extinct for centuries so she might interpret it as symbolic.
From the narrator's scientifically explained perspective this is just a crazy acid trip, but is it coincidence she sees the same cat?
There are a few parts in this story that are left to the reader to interpret, like page 46 for instance. But there are always some clues.
